Melted Plastic in Taco's!
We have continued to frequent California Mexican Food, until today, which will be our last meal and the end of our recommendations for them.
I bit into a Crispy Chicken Taco and found that there was something tough in it. I extracted it and found it to be a melted plastic top to one of their Hot Sauce Containers.
I went back to them, went back through their drive thru line and gave it along with my receipt back to them. I explained that it was in my taco and I wanted to let them know that had happened. No Biggie, didn't ask for or want a refund, just felt that they needed to know, because if nobody tells them, they will never know that they have a problem.
The girl at the window said that it is a top to a hot sauce and I must have dropped it into my taco. English may not be her native language, but how would that have melted it and combined it with the chicken?!
Long and short, their quality has gone downhill, they could care less about their customers and I won't be back.
5 Stars, BUT... with a critique.
Okay, so my wife and I have eaten here perhaps 30 times since they first opened and obviously like their food!
Every restaurant has issues with quantity, quality, etc from time to time and shift to shift, however with that said, the one BIG critique that I would give to their menu is their Chili Relleno Side Dish. They give you two of them, include your choice of either corn or flour tortilla's (not really sure why... to tell you the truth) the batter is excellent, it has a lot of creamy cheese and the sauce is very smooth and tasty... the only issue is with the Chili's themselves. They don't seem to roast them to remove the blackened skin, which also omits the heat from penetrating the pepper at the same time, which then does not cook sufficiently enough to soften them for consumption. Long and short of it? At the age of 70 with Chili Relleno's being my favorite Mexican dish, I have literally had thousands of them and these are the toughest ones I have ever tried to chew :)
We will keep going there as 90% of the time they do a great job of cooking whatever you get, but we are done with ever ordering the Chili Relleno's again. Buyer Beware....
Note to the owners: Set yourselves up an outdoor roasting cage to blacken them. Then peel the blackened skin, open and remove the seeds and skeins, fill, dip and fry (I might also mention that baking them is an option... not a popular method as the batter is not what people associate with them, but a great healthy alternative, as well as it actually does a better job of cooking the peppers to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered three cane asada burritos one chicken burrito and got three taqitos with cheese and guacamole for free my friend ordered it on Uber eats the taqitos appears to be old as the guacamole was completely oxidize which happens when the food is out too long and exposed the burritos cost 48 dollars all together but I specifically asked them to put pinto beans rice and dour cream in the instructions and when we got the food a half hour later it was made so all four burritos were not made correctly i even asked them in the instructions to label the burritos on the wrapper so i would know which was my friends and which was mine and my family's without having to open up and check each burrito they didn't even read the instructions I sent them and when I called and asked why they gave me old food that's been sitting out the taqitos and why weren't the burritos made right all of them wrong the attendant said that I didn't ask them to charge me for them in the instructions well in my defence they don't give any instructions on weather or not id need to do so beyond giving specific instructions on how i want my burrito made and that they didnt know if i wanted them to charge me or not and she said some peole get mad if they do but then she read the instructions that came with the order and she read back my request for then to label each burrito on the wrapper which is which. So why didn't they at least do that if they read the specific instructions which only come with one option for us. That's because they lied to me about the whole didn't know what I wanted thing they never even read the order beyond the number and it was a 48$ order so they said they won't do anything to fix it sorry so gross old food sitting out sold as fresh incomplete exspensive orders with no guareentee lack of paying attention to what the customer wants in there order even though paying alot cold food no refunds or replacements for their mistakes prone to make excuses to cover who's at fault and honestly poor ingredients I ordered their again a few days prior and ordered carnitas pork burritos and the pork inside was veru fatty and look like all the poor cuts of the meats it wasnt good or tasty to eat and for 48 dollars for four burritos they shure were small. And only cane with basic ingredients . Over priced poor food service unreliable. I'm never eating here again I recommend making your own burritos cost 3 times less for better ingredients and can still feed 4 people in reality if you went to the grocery store over eating here and cold food nothing was right huge bill no fixing it makes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOrdered food to go, 20 minute drive home and they gave me the wrong order, not about to drive back there this late at night. Did get to try their carrots and onions which were pretty awesome. Unfortunately they are not answering their phone for me to try and let them know I'll be back tomorrow for the correct order. Will update review once I actually get to try their food.
Well, I'm so disappointed. I went back the following day with my receipt of what I had ordered the previous day that they messed up. Combo with beans, rice, bean and cheese burrito and cheese enchilada. When I told the cashier there was a mistake and I got the wrong order I handed her my receipt. Without looking at the receipt she tells me she remembers I ordered the value meal of just the bean and cheese burrito($4+), I tell her no, and tell her again what I ordered($8+) she still doesn't believe me, so I tell her to look at the receipt. Then she says it was the kitchens fault, they messed up my order and not her. Honestly, I didn't care who's fault it was, it was busy and mistakes happen, no big deal, just give me what I ordered and paid for and don't call me a liar.
I was the only one ordering food inside when I got there and it took forever. I made sure to check my food before I left and I got the correct meal this time. Portions are of a great size too! When I got home I tried the rice... It was hard and had absolutely no flavor. I tried the beans, I'm pretty sure they left the water running and walked away and accidentally dumped a bucket of salt in it. I'm not sure how any cook could make beans THAT salty and think it was ok to serve? I skipped the bean and cheese burrito since I already knew the beans was more salt than anything. I got to the cheese enchilada, now, you can't really mess that up, right? WRONG. I felt like I was eating cheese rolled up in a tortilla with colored water on top. Enchilada sauce had no taste to it. None.
I lived in California for 15 years (don't hate me, I was stuck there, not my fault) I've tried a lot of Mexican food from all over California and hopping across the boarder to Mexico for lunches and dinners. This place is horrible, unless they figure out their recipes I can't see them staying in business.
Really wanted to like...
